The embroidery of the Troyan region is a key element of traditional folk costume. It is distinguished by rich geometric and floral motifs, often with specific symbolism. The colors are vibrant, with red symbolizing life and protection, green – nature and fertility, and white – purity. The embroidery decorates shirts, aprons, and the “sukmana” (a type of sleeveless dress), reflecting the skills and artistic sense of local women. These traditions are preserved and displayed in the Museum of Folk Crafts in Troyan and the National Exhibition in Oreshak.
